The Ukulele Traders are pleased to introduce the Fender Avalon Tenor Ukulele in Surf Green

Inspired by the beach community on Catalina Island in Southern California, the Avalon tenor ukulele is the larger sibling to our incredibly popular Venice soprano model. A tenor ukulele gives the player a deeper tonal register than a concert or soprano body size, while still maintaining the portability to travel easily from the beach to the studio or jam room. The Avalon’s all-basswood construction and slim “C”-shaped neck profile provide the superior tone and playability that is a hallmark of Fender ukuleles.

Other features include a no-tie bridge for quick, easy string changes, classic Fender colour options and painted 4-in-line Strat® headstock. With the Avalon ukulele, you can be transported to your own island, no matter where you are.

About the manufacturer

Fender

Fender brings its iconic guitar heritage into the ukulele world, offering instruments that feel familiar to guitar players. While best known for electric guitars, Fender’s ukulele range focuses on playability, modern styling, and solid construction.

Standout models often include Telecaster-inspired designs and electro-acoustic options, making them a great choice for performers or players crossing over from guitar. Fender ukuleles tend to lean toward a slightly more contemporary feel.

Concert Ukuleles

Concert ukuleles are slightly larger than soprano models, offering a more comfortable playing experience while retaining the classic ukulele tone. They provide a bit more room on the fretboard, making them popular with adult beginners and intermediate players.

With a balanced sound and increased volume compared to soprano ukuleles, concert models are versatile and well suited to both strumming and fingerstyle playing.

Soprano Ukuleles

Soprano ukuleles are the smallest and most traditional size, known for their bright, cheerful tone. Their compact design makes them lightweight and easy to handle, especially for beginners or younger players.

They deliver the classic “island” sound most people associate with ukuleles and are perfect for simple chords, strumming, and casual playing.

Tenor Ukuleles

Tenor ukuleles are larger than concert models and offer increased volume, sustain, and depth of tone. They are a popular choice for more experienced players who want greater expression and dynamic range.

The larger fretboard makes them ideal for fingerpicking and more complex arrangements. Many professional players favour tenor ukuleles for their versatility and fuller sound.
